Highlights of the new design include:

  • 50% faster order input time

  • 40% faster RESULTS sending time

  • Send emails to vendors and clients with built in contact information and email templates

  • Complete layout redesign, intended to simplify and consolidate information


Interface Redesign


Designed for Split Screens

This layout is designed to take over 50% (or less) of your screen, so you can work on the app while having a web browser take up half the screen. The fields are also more dynamic and will adjust to whatever work space you prefer.


Improved Spacial Efficiency

With the rearrangement of the layouts, everything has been designed with workflow, order management, and user-experience in mind. The fields are displayed in a format that more productively uses space and arranged in a way to considers workflow and order process.

More Pleasant Visuals

All the new layouts are designed with Boomerang colors, and lighter shades or gray for improved and easier screen time.

BIS Logo Dropdown

The large button bar from the old version of Filemaker has been replaced with a dropdown menu that contains buttons for quick access to the layouts of in the system including dashboard, clients, projects, QB export, Vendor, and Staff Details.

New Header Features

The header redesign allows for more room at the top of the screen and has additional features including a new order button, easy access to the dashboard, and layout dependent functions.

Fewer Tabs, More Information

The new layout removed the UCC details tab and put the relevant information at the top of the page. This way you will have more information easily accessible while working on a project or putting together a report.


A Smarter Index

When selecting a state the system assigns an employee to the order and builds a state specific index with search periods and searchable items that are specific to that state (e.g. MA-FTL only shows up in MA orders, IL-STL only shows up for IL orders). There is now a popover next to the state field that provides quick access to information about the state including pricing and reference information.

Target Line Features

Whenever a target is added to an order that has already been searched by Boomerang, a link will appear next to the target name providing information about when that target was previously searched. Additionally, each target line now has a through date field for quicker adjustment to the particular county that target was searched in.

New Visuals on Status/Targets/Hits

There are three new fields at the top of the screen that show the status of the order (editable), the number of targets assigned to the order, and the number of hits recorded on the particular order. This allows you to more easily see if you have added everything needed to a report.

Better Field Function

When adding a target, any blank space at the beginning and end of the target field is automatically deleted.

The state field automatically capitalizes (typing “mA” will capitalize into “MA”)

Auto-assigning of Orders

Orders are automatically assigned to researchers based off the number of “active” targets they have in their workflow, and what states each person is trained on. If unavailable to accept new orders this assignment process can be shut off by the user when in the dashboard.


Improved Client Input and Order Build

Rather than cycling through company and office lists, when building out a new order you can type the client name into the client field to build an order, making order input quicker. This will also have a popover with information to access about the client providing quick access to contact information.

Notes Function

The system will automatically add notes about client specific preferences for the order. This will improve consistency and communication between all the orders in the system. A new note option has been added for multi-title documents.

Easily Accessible State Pricing and Index Information

Every state has a popover that displays the pricing information for each state. At a point in the future we will add more information to this field, and more states to the index.

An Easier Index

The index in box 1 will automatically populate the search periods of the specific state, and it also easier to select using a cursor. Where the button was a box, it is now the entire field. Additionally, the dropdown in box 3 matches box 1, and orders and reports build faster.


Bulk Target Add

You can now add 2, 4, 4, 5, or 10 targets at the same time. For large orders, this function will greatly improve target name input speed as it takes the same amount of time to add 10 targets as it takes to add 1.




Easy Access

There is a dropdown list at the upper corner of the dashboard that allows you to jump from one users dashboard to the other without needing to go through the staff page.

More Function from DB

New buttons in layout include a “New Order”, “Refresh”, “Find” and “New Orders”. All these will make it easier for you to complete more necessary tasks right from your dashboard without going to different layouts.

Additionally, there is more customization options in the sorting feature. The default is as BIS number, but can be changed to sort orders by any of the fields in the dashboard layout.

First Target Listed

The new layout includes the first target listed in an order. This will allow for you to more easily identify an order and access it. All the fields are dynamic, so if you increase the size of the window you will be able to see more of the target information.




New Dashboard

This redesigned layout makes it easy for you to locate an order, determine the status and order specific information.

UCC Details Page

This redesigned page gives you mobile friendly access to all the information about the specific order. You can view and edit any information from anywhere you have cellphone access. Later added features will be order completion and email function.

Build Vendor Emails… FAST

Select a vendor, select a target, send a vendor email… all within 4 clicks. This new function will improve the speed that you can send vendor emails and reduce the amount of information you need to add adjust in email formatting. Give it a try!

Less Results Error

The system now checks how many hits are being reported in an order so that when you send a results email it remind you if you are missing any attachments before you send them out.

Through Date Check

The system now checks all the indexes in your order to make sure there aren’t any report fields that a through date added. This will reduce the number of reports that get returned with missing effective dates.

Emails Routed Through Server

Emails are now all routed through the server. This means that you can send emails from any remote location that has a FM app - a laptop, a home desktop, and eventually a mobile device.

Quick Access to Vendor Information

Once you have selected a vendor in the vendor search field, the system will display all the information of that vendor including: counties covered, contact information, and rating (1 red - 5 green).
